Financial Contributions for 2021
For your convenience, the information and payment details for:
2021 Stationery Financial contribution and
2021 Voluntary Financial Contributions
are attached to today’s Newsletter.
Your Voluntary Financial Contribution (set by our School Board at $75 for one child or $105 for a family) assists in purchasing learning resources for the children.
Your Stationery Financial Contribution ($95 for preschool and $80 for Kindergarten to Year 6) provides all the stationery items that your child will need for the 2021 learning year. Our school purchases all stationery items in bulk, making it a cost effective way to acquire the children’s stationery needs.
Our goal is for families to make these two contributions as early as possible in the school year. Please see the attached notes for detailed information.

Whatever It Takes!
The staff of Neville Bonner Primary School do 'Whatever It Takes' to bring a smile to the faces of our children and their families.
During the Remote Learning Period we sung and danced and handed out 'Top Secret' packages to children and their families so that they could make cards for the special adults in their lives, to celebrate Mothers' Day.

School of the Week!
Posted on 16 Jun 2020

Did you see the children on WIN TV last week? Some of our Kindergarten children, senior choir and Year 6/5 children shared their insights, singing and design skills in relation to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander curriculum perspective. The WIN team was at school with us for about an hour and then showcased our school in their regular “School of The Week” news segment. Since its inception, Neville Bonner Primary School has enacted our deep commitment to ensuring that all children who learn at our school, will leave with a deeper appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, their significance for Australia and the impact these have had, and continue to have on the world. This work is evidenced in the symbolism in the built environment (eg the red gates contain many words from the Ngunnawal language, the artwork on the softfall of our fixed equipment areas are stunning designs by well-known Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists) , the naming of spaces and buildings using Ngunnawal language, and through our teaching and learning programmes. For the news segment the children sang our school song, ‘Yunggaballi’, written by Jamie Madsen in conjunction with Years 6/5 children school in 2013. The lyrics are available on our website if you are interested. Gadi means search for (knowledge), Murranga means hand (helping hands of your school) and of course Yunggaballi means sing! We sing our school song at every whole school Assembly along with our very own ‘Neville Bonner Matters’ song.
